ALEXANDER GRAHAM BELL MAKES FIRST TRANSCONTINENTAL PHONE CALL
On this day in 1915, Alexander Graham Bell inaugurated the U.S. transcontinental telephone service.
Bell, in New York City, made a telephone call to his former associate Thomas Watson in San Francisco.
